Camerata Orphica - Vienna Les Orpheistes is an international orchestra of outstanding musicians under the patronage of Viktor Prinz von Isenburg and Pater Mag. Andreas Kunkel.

For years the violin virtuoso Mario Hossen form the solid core of the orchestra- high talented musicians, prize winners from both national and international competitions- from Austria and the Donau Region. Camerata Orphica - Vienna Les Orpheistes has repeatedly proved its high quality and capability in concerts, on tours and with CD recordings. In a rare example of international cultural cooperation between several south European nations· Camerata Orphica- Vienna Les Orpheistes create a cultural bridge between neighboring countries with different national identities and would become the music cultural ambassadors for the „Orphic“ States.
Many famous musicians have been heard as part of Camerata Orphica - Vienna Les Orpheistes – illustrious names include the violinists Gérard Poulet, Takashi Shimizu, and Dong Suk Kang; the violists Gérard Caussé and Wolfgang Klos; the cellists Anton Nikulescu, Wolfgang Panhofer and Dominique de Williencour. Milena Mollova and Adrian Oetiker are connected with the orchestra as pianists, while Hansjörg Schellenberger (oboe) and Philippe Bernold (flute) have repeatedly conducted performances in the dual roles of soloist/conductor. Alexis Hauser, Joel Mathias Jenny, Borislav Ivanov, François Pierre Descamps deserve mentioning among the conductors.

Various CD recordings bear witness to the high musical and technical standard of the Les Orpheistes orchestra in works by Bach, Mozart, Stamitz, Mendelssohn and Tchaikovsky.

Mario HOSSEN hailed for his artistry, virtuosity and charismatic presence on stage received his education in Sofia, Vienna and Paris. He made his debut as soloist with Orchestra at the age of eight. Among his teachers are great pedagogues as Michael Frischenschlager, Darina Dankova and Gerard Poulet.
As a concert soloist of international acclaim, Hossen has performed with renowned orchestras such as the English Chamber Orchestra, the Tchaikovsky Symphony Orchestra of Moscow Radio, the Bruckner Orchester Linz, the Chamber Orchestra della Scala di Milano, the Sofia Philharmonic Orchestra, the Royal Philharmonic, the Orquesta Sinfonica del Estado de Mexico, the Prague Radio Symphony Orchestra, the Turkish Presidential Symphony Orchestra, the Capella Istropolitana of Bratislava and the Nordwestdeutsche Philharmonie. Hossen’s concert activity has taken him to the U.S.A.(Carnegie Hall), Austria(Vienna Konzerthaus, Brucknerhaus Linz), Switzerland(Victoria Hall Geneva, Tonhalle Zürich), Spain(Auditorio Nacional Madrid, Palau de la Musica Barcellona, Festival International de Santander), Canada, Mexico, China, Russia(Tschaikovsky Hall Moscow) and Japan.

He has appeared together with outstanding musicians like Vladimir Fedoseyev, Bruno Canino, Philippe Bernold, Adrian Oetiker, Gerard Causse, Vladimir Kiradjiev, Israel Yinon, Dominique de Williencourt, Georges Pludermacher, Jean-Bernard Pommier to name just a few. Mario Hossen is artistic director of Camerata Orphica- “Les Orpheistes Festival Orchestra Vienna”, director of the International Music Academy Orpheus and Professor at the New Bulgarian University in Sofia and Tokyo.

Several contemporary composers have dedicated works to Hossen, and Hossen has commissioned works with composers, e.g. Rainer Bischof, Walter Baer, Georghi Arnaoudov, F.P. Descamps, Alessandro Solbiati, Tomas Marco.

Mario Hossen plays a violin by Giovanni Battista Guadagnini, Milano 1749, on loan from the Oesterreichische Nationalbank’s collection.
