Atanas Mladenov

Atanas Mladenov was born in Sofia in the family of opera musicians. He graduated with honours from the “Prof. Pancho Vladigerov” National Academy of Music in the Opera singing class of Prof. Niko Isakov. After that specialized in Rome at the “Boris Christoff” Bulgarian Cultural Institute. Next he studied in the class of Eugenia Dundekova at the “Gioachino Rossini” State Conservatory in Pesaro, Italy, and took part in several Summer Academies and master classes in Bulgaria, Italy and Spain.
In his repertoire are included roles like Count Almaviva – “Le nozze di Figaro” (Mozart), Papageno – “Die Zauberflöte” (Mozart), Conte Robinson – “Il matrimonio segreto” (Cimarosa), Germano – “La scala di seta” (Rossini), Mustafa – “Adina,ossia Il califfo di Bagdad” (Rossini), Gasparo – “Rita” (Donizetti) and others.
Since 2012 Atanas Mladenov is a soloist of the Sofia Opera and Ballet, on the stage of which he sang: Belcore in “L'elisir d'amore” (Donizetti), Ping in “Turandot” (Puccini), Albert – “Werther” (Massenet), Frédérick – “Lakmé” (Delibes), Zurga – “Les pêcheurs de perles” (Bizet), Dandini in Rossini’s “La cenerentola”, the Protagonist in Borislav - the first bulgarian historical opera from Maestro Georgi Atanassov, Onegin in “Eugene Onegin”, Prince Yeletzki in "Dama Pique" (Tchaikovsky), Rodrigo di Posa in "Don Carlo", George Germont from "La Traviata" (Verdi) and many others.
Atanas Mladenov takes also part in Wagner’s epic operas “Götterdämmerung” (from the tetralogy “Der Ring des Nibelungen”) with the role of Gunter, in “Tristan und Isolde” as Kurwenal and in “Parsifal” with the role of Amfortas.
His next performances will be as Figaro in "Barbiere di Siviglia" and Orest in Richard Strauss's "Elektra"
