Nikola Hadjitanev
Principal Dancer
Since 2006 Nikola Hadjitanev is a dancer at the Sofia National Opera and Ballet Theatre. As a soloist he participated in "Giselle", "Swan Lake", "Don Quixote", "The Nutcracker", "Coppélia", "Zorba the Greek", and other productions of the prestigious institution.
He took part in international festivals in Russia, Italy, Greece and Germany. He was a finalist of the International Ballet Competition in Varna, 2006.
Nikola Hadjitanev is the winner of awards, including the special prize of Baroque Sicily, Modica, Italy in 2006 and the first prize for best dance partner in the International Festival of Arts in Fivizano, Italy, 2002.
In 2006 he was awarded an honorary medal of the Academy "Future of Bulgaria" for his artistic achievements in the field of ballet, and an honorary diploma, awarded him on the Day of the Slavic Culture and Literature, May 24, 2005 by the Ministry of Culture of Bulgaria.
In 2010, he received the Grand Prix of the XIV National Ballet Competition "Anastas Petrov" and "Crystal Lyre" award. His repertoire includes leading parties from the ballets "The Rite of Spring," "Giselle," "Swan Lake," "Don Quixote," "The Nutcracker", "The Goat Horn", "Greeks are Zorba," "Romeo and Juliet", "Coppelia" , " La Sylphide," "Carmen," "Lady of the Camellias", "Suite in white", "Paquita", "Scheherazade" and others.
